Sure. But you still learnt it at some point. Many will need to be
told, some will never learn, some will go through their entire biking
life ignorant of it. They'll never be great riders, but I still don't
    think

    is true.

Magick pickskis could be a valid answer as to how it gets round the corner.
there is no real need for the physics, and most get that wrong too[1]. How
we interact with the bike to make it get round the corner is what counts.
That is what is lacking in the content delivered by a large number of ATBs,
and by omission they are, IMHO, failing to deliver, which in turn leads to
newly fledged riders cocking corners up.
It doesn't matter what you call it. Just the knowledge of look right, push
right, go right. Look left, push left, go left really does go a heck of a
long way to improve the safety and longevity of the learning rider.
Even something as basic as the vanishing point and the above is not
considered a requirement for direct access.
The common counterpoint is that it isn't needed for test. Maybe not, but is
it better to equip solely for test or to equip for life?

[1]I'm not opening that can of worms. The wikipedia article is quite good,
    as is the TOTW2 DVD.

I've been riding bikes for 35 years now and never consciously counter
steer and it's only over the last few years that it's been a topic of
conversation. It wouldn't occur to me to head for a corner and push on
the inside bar to get the bike to turn into a corner and years ago
when bikes handled a lot worse than they do now all you'd do would be
to physically try to throw it into a corner without even considering
which way the bars were going.
I've never used the vanishing point as a datum for going around
corners and the only thing I was ever told was to look where I wanted
to go. Natural riders will just get on a bike and ride it and the rest
are going to jack it in after one too many crashes.

And she passed with flying colours (one advisory). I'd better get on
    with sorting that SV now.
