Try it this way then: A bit of olive oil in a large saucepan. Chop up a couple of rashers of smoked streaky bacon. Fry the bacon in the live oil for a minute or two. Stick a couple of cloves of sliced garlic in with it. Chuck finely chopped white cabbage on top. Put the lid on the saucepan, turn the heat down and leave it about 10-15 mins. Serve. Or. For a barbeque salad: Shred white cabbage as finely as you can. Chuck it in a serving bowl. Dress with extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and carraway seed. Serve.
