There was a young man called Gorman
Who got a job as a doorman
    He'd nod as they'd pass
    Or else kick their ass
And became known as Gorman the Lawman

Having ridden back from the BiL's gaff in Peckham tonight[1], I'm
surprised the Blackbird wasn't nicked from beneath me.

By Ged, what a dodgy area.[2]

[1] Via Tower Bridge, as the Rotherhithe tunnel closed for maintenance
as I peeled off Tunnel approach roundabout. :(

[2] and I've lived in a few in my time.

Salad Dodger secured a place in history by writing:
AOL. I gave 'financial advice' to a few people in that area about 15 years
ago. Nice people, but wandering estates in Peckham with a very early
laptop and printer setup (size of a suitcase)...well, I feared for my
fucking life, frankly. I was frequently offered an escort to my car by
the burliest member of the customer's family, which I always declined; To
accept seemed to be an insulting acknowledgement of the shitty, scary
conditions these people had to put up with. But I moved as quickly as I
could with a hundredweight of early Toshiba kit over my shoulder...
