I think the word is "incongruous", since Australians aren't particularly
noted for their lack of humour.

Champ's a bit fragile ATM so I won't say what she wondered.

I don't keep her locked in the house you know - I know it seems unlikely her
staying with me and everything, but it *is* through choice :)

Oh I dunno. There's a few at Trent Bridge at the moment who don't seem
    to be smiling a lot.

9 million of them are watching on the telebox apparently. According the
Ather's, with a slight snigger in his voice.

Either we've both just agreed on the noise we think she makes when
aroused, or you've told me you don't want to toss for ends...

She's perfectly lucid and more suited to the "Seventies new wave/indie
    icons I'd like to ****".

For the triple set scoring on every level I'd nominate Polly Styrene.

if you're going to get mucky, then I'll nominate Rose McDowall.

Kim Deal and Tanya Donnelly. As they were 10 years ago please. Not
    necessarily at the same time.

Crikey, she looks kind of alright now, let alone 20 years ago.

Though I did happen to see Loose Women the other day and thought
Colleen Nolan looked a bit of alright for her age, so frame that in
    whatever context you like.

I danced with her at Bailey's nightclub in Watford in November 1980. She
was with 2 of her sisters and their dad checking the place out prior to
a gig the next night. I think she was still 15 then.

I didn't ask. She was 16 at the time, cos I remember thinking to myself
that I really ought to try and get a leg-over.

Yep. The R1 was second on my list when I was shopping around in the UK last
year. It's nice to kind of have a 2nd shot at it since I wasn't prepared to
stump up for a K5, and they were all sold out anyway. I would have had to
wait for the K6 or really hunt elsewhere in the country. The R1 has a
smoother delivery but doesn't have the low down grunt. It makes it more
suitable for commuting, despite running at higher revs, and I don't short
shift like I did on the Gixxer. It's a smaller bike, I can get both feet
down pretty much flat and it generally feels smaller, more like a 600.
Pillion seat is going to be less comfortable (for someone else). Haven't
been to the track yet, I'll let you know in a few weeks when I've done one.
Over here track days aren't a matter of just picking whoever's running the
next weekend one. The underseat pipes and engine heat aren't going to be a
    dream in summer.

I sat on Daz's K5 the other week, it's a damn sight lower in seat height
than my K1 to the extent that I can flat-foot it. I'm on tip-toes on my
bike, and this is after backing the preload right off. Last week I tried
an R1 out for size again and it still feels too tall, but they seem to
have the ergonomics more to my liking now when both feet are on the
pegs. The older ones just weren't comfortable at all and as a result I
never felt like riding them hard. The 04/05 model would probably suit me
well, but I think I'd miss the low down torque of the Gixer. There's
also the underseat pipes, I'm not a big fan of them and I've grown to
like the K5 silencer. What I couldn't get on with is the K5s rock hard
plank of a seat. The K1 is like a Pan Euro in comparison.

Apart from the fact that Auvache would have never gone to see this gig,
your post seemed to have been written by him.

    Are you, perchance, related?
