100cm from wheel axis to axis.

Mate of mine is importing them (to Dagoland) from China for about a grand,
    built to his specs.

They can also be ridden by grown ups and XXL sized old farts as an über
pocket bike. I have insisted him not to let me try one.

Not wanting to be sceptical or anything, but I hope for his sake that
    (a) the bikes are indeed built to a certain standard, that (b) he has
invested in some very good product liability insurance and that (c)
he's putting some form of after-sales service and parts back-up in
    place.

Otherwise, in my book, there's nothing to separate him from the
hundreds of other clowns who are bringing over containerloads of
crappy Chinese bikes, flogging them, and moving on to other things.

    Good observations, certainly :)

    a) Yes, he chose the components according to his specs above the
average quality out of container shitloads. Website says they are
using some "competition" parts (rotor, oil radiator) off-the-shelf.

b)c) Don't know, it is a good question to ask.
Man is in several kinds of motorcycle businesses and a former racer,
not just a China trader importing no-one-knows-what as you well
    describe what applies to many.

    c) "Supported by the co. that supports racing KTM's" the reply is.

Considering this is Dago market and not road legal bikes, makes sense.
