The zephyr seems to want to go onto reserve at around 120 miles whether it's
    been bimbled or thrashed.

Fuel consumption is pretty poor really, I reckon the car is more economical.

    Dan L says...
It must have a really small tank, or there's something wrong. Big
Kawasakis are usually very good on fuel.

    Swot I fort.
It did improve a bit after you balanced the carbs for me, but other Zephyr
1100 owners all report the same tank range.

    I think you're prolly right.
Most of the Zephyr peeps I know haven't been able to squeeze significant
extra performance, in terms of power and / or fuel consumption out of the
    old lump.

The 4 into 1 zorst I briefly had fitted to mine seemed to make it quicker,
although when I inspected where the downtubes bolted to the head, it was
very white inside, which led me to believe it was maybe running a bit lean.
Had I kept the zorst I would have had to take it to the dyno man.

  6. They are, but the 1200 Zeph is a definite exception.

Dick Dastardly's (admittedly tuned) one used to do 30mpg or less.
