Last BR Fireman to be passed out on regular steam services.

On that note: I was recently sent a scan of a painting/pastel drawing (I
really don't know) of me watering one of these engines. I've never been
in a painting before - anyway this is what I looked like at 19 and at
work in 1987. I like it...

That is rather nice. And, fortunately, your face is almost completely
    obscured.

Would the FOAK think it's possible to use a Goldwing Trike
as a new Pope Mobile? I fancy a change.

And even had it been, it would have been a snog with a struggling young
actress that no-one had heard of. Perhaps I should present the tale as 'I
was once set up with Alex Kingston', since that was pretty much the case,
given that we were the two singletons at the table. Sadly, we both got
slaughtered and I actually only vaguely recall the event - it took a friend
years later to point out to me that it happened at all, since I never made
the mental connection between the current AK and the aspiring thespian that
was AK in her early twenties.

Still, I'm looking forward to old age, when my memory will have
naturally adjusted its recollection and I can tell people about the evening
I spent dining with AK, and how I shagged her bandy afterwards, then
ditched her as she failed to meet my exacting standards. She was so
distraught, she had to pursue a career on a different continent etc etc

You're right. I'll start with the bit where she dropped her fork under
