Just reading a side by side test on this & the S1000RR, any gear, anytime
it's faster & more powerful than the S1000RR up to 8k revs. 0-100mph is
    faster too.

The top speed is quite poor at 151mph, but for road use, i'll bet its a
    fucking hoot.

A lot of it is down to the piss poor exchange rate with the yen, the
pound is worth about half what is was against the yen in 2004. And on
top VAT has gone to 20%. Rumour would have it the new 2011 GSXR750 is
going to come in at about 10.5K, and the thou over 11K.

Gan't see our exchange rate improving until the bank of englans stop
playing financial games either - which won't be any time soon.

A £13k BMW, in this day & age of bike prices, i reckon it's a bang on sure
    winner.

    Overpriced my arse.

Gonna have a go on one this week, if they have one in.

All bikes have shot up in price. I can't believe I paid £8000 new for
my GSXR in 2008 and it's 10 large now.

I looked at one before getting the Tiger, but the budget wouldn't
stretch that far (none yet available pre-loved).

I suspect the reason that it's faster and more powerful than the S1000RR
in real world conditions will be in some way linked with its top speed
    "only" being 151 :)

That said, the Tiger has a lot slower top speed than the Hayabusa, but
it sure as hell ain't faster and and more powerful than it!

I'm still somewhat chuffed I got my 10R for £6800 in 2007, 4 years on
and they're still going for around 5K on ebay.

£7400 for my ZX10R. Then just over a year later got £6800 for it as a
trade-in against the GSXR. I think the GSXR is worth about
    £6000-£6500 at the moment.

That wouldn't give a gutless BMW any more low-down torque.
And a much quicker and cheaper solution than changing sprockets
is to push down on the lever by your left foot.

  12. Sounds like the UK prices are aligning more closely to the Euro prices.
Unless the Euro prices have also increased - I can't say I'm that up to
    date.

It won't be serious rust, the exhaust and cat are low grade stainless
    steel

Same as the ZRX one. It went brown in places within a few weeks but 8
years on and it's still never actually corroded.

Versys downpipes are like that. Mine broke in a Bandit 600 style where
the mild steel spigot is welded to the stainless downpipes. The
downpipes are brown but they polish up to perfect easily with Solvol.
When the latest set of downpipes break[1] I'll get a stainless section
welded in by Mark Hill at MHP.

[1] Only a matter of time apparently, and I'm not spending 300 quid on
a new set that will do the same again.
