ZX-6R question.

    I've just had to replace the downpipes for my f1, though the can is
    the same.

    It's suddenly become undriveable at around 6200 rpm.

    Also, if I crank open the throttle, the flat spot is HUGE about 2000
    revs either side of this speed.

    Can the downpipes be so responsible?

    You have got them fitted correctly, with a gasket, all torqued up properly,
    etc. haven't you?

    Yes, are they the same diameter as the old ones?

    Yes, the down pipes have more impact on the engine performance than the
    end can.
