    I don't suppose anybody's got a Baglux tank cover for a ZX-9R lying
    around doing nothing, have they?

Perhaps one of the many ex-9R owners has one in their attic that they've
forgotten about, which they've been meaning to put on eBay and never got
round to, and would be willing to exchange for a number of beer tokens?

  2. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Eddie
You'll be wanting one with the optional rear padding, I suppose?

Oh, yes. And anything that goes in the tank bag will be wrapped in
    cotton wool.

And perhaps I should fit the optional "launch ramp" to the seat, to make
sure that I (or rather, certain parts of me) clear the tank completely
in the event of an unexpected forward aerial dismount.

Sorry, but no. Can't remember what happened to mine. I think I might
have flogged it to Dick Dastardly.

No. You don't want aerials fitted too - they'd really rip into your
    bits.

From Lozzos post it looks like you're already sorted. But, just in
case I have a green zx-9r baglux cover lying around doing bog all.
It's no good to me now so free to a good home. Can't be arsed with
fleabay. Also took the double bubble off it before I traded it in.
Fits E1 (probably E2 as well).

The matching green alpha bag is still on daily laptop / sarnie carting
to work duty. It looks so nice on a black gixxer I can't bear to part
    with it.

Green? Mine's red... I'm not too worried about whether the pattern
matches exactly, but a green cover on a red bike is more than even my
    limited colour-coordination skills could bear.
Double-bubble, eh? How much difference did it make? I didn't find the
wind blast that bad on my test ride, but I wasn't out for that long.
Yeah, black matches anything - which is why I got black luggage - but
most people buy the accessories to coordinate with the bike, rather than
    the other way round.

(The first person to mention that I've bought a bike to match my
leathers gets a very stern glare indeed.)

Oh, I dunno. It would make the bike stand out in a crowd. Then again,
being red / green colourblind I doubt I'd notice.
I'm 5' 9' ish' and found the wind blast really bad without and
bearable with the double bubble. Strangely the suzuki is a lot smaller
with much less frontal area and I find the wind blast better than on
the zx9. Was expecting it to be much worse. Weird.
Red leathers eh? You bat for the other side I take it?

Well, I'll see how I get on with the standard one first - I'll be doing
~170 miles in one go tomorrow, so that should give a fair indication.
No, black with red and white bits.
    What, Lancashire?

Have fun. Better buy yourself some new shirts as you'll have neck
muscles like an F1 driver on steroids.
    Only semi-gay then.
    No, Glamorgan.

Nah, I don't think it'll be as bad as the Falco, and I coped with that
    for long enough.

You mean you're not one of the master race then? Never mind, you chaps
will learn to play rugby one day.

If only that Woodward chimp swallowed his pride and took more Welsh
    players, eh?

Wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference to me. I used to watch a
lot of rugby, but I couldn't give two hoots about it now.

Rubbish. I'm notoriously fey and I didn't have a double bubble on my
    9R. And I'm 5' 11". I've got a DB on the gixxer, mind.

    Different strokes for different folks.

C1/C2 has different upper fairing / screen to E1/E2? Who knows? All I
do know is that the DB made mine a *lot* comfier and quieter at speed.
I don't get the buffeting anywhere near as much on the gixxer so I'll
not bother with an aftermarket screen.

I had an Airblade double bubble on my 9R C2, it made a hell of a
difference over the standard screen the bike came with. At 185 on the
clock I was still sitting fairly upright with my head ducked down
slightly looking just over the top of it and elbows tucked in. I've
ridden a couple of E models and the double bubble screens on them
didn't seem to be all that efeective, but my C2 one did have quite a
large 'bubble', so maybe that's down to the screen manufacturer.

The Gixer has a TechnaFlo double bubble that I bought from Harris
Performance Products cos they were on special offer at 20 quid + vat.
While it may look absolutely lovely in dark tint, it's fucking useless.
The bike may as well not have a screen at all and I have to crawl under
the fuel cap to get out of the wind. For someone as small as me that's
terrible. Now I know why they were selling them off cheap.
