emerged from their own little world to say
They are hideous and a totally impractical shape & size. You'd get more
stuff in a decent rucksack or seat bag.

"Due to the design and close fit to the side panels of our Beetle Bags,
it is necessary to remove the saddlebags from the motorcycle in order to
remove the front saddle. All brackets can remain in place and the bags
come off with just three nuts on each side".

    What fucking use is that?

  7. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Lozzo amazed us all with this pearl of wisdom:
I was going to say they're fucking horrid.

Black bin liners would look better.

I was going to post something on this on Friday - this chap seems to be going
through the "Top Trumps" new-bike-selection methodology.

It's my firm belief that if you buy a bike purely based on technical
    parameters -

    - reasonable power
    - good on petrol
    - not too expensive insurance
    - quite reliable
    - can carry luggage
    - comfortable at speed
    - not too hard on the wrists
    - good in traffic

.... you will always end up at the Honda Deauville. If the Deauville was a
colour, it would be brown. If it was the nucleus of an atom, that atom would
    be iron.

Obviously this is very, very wrong, and we should all simply buy the bike we
think rocks the most. But will they listen?

Well, had I been feeling generous i'd have likened it to the pan. But I
wasn't. The pan at least looks designed for the purpose, whereas this
12R abortion has the same bulbous ugly looks of the deauville. i.e. a
sculptured rear to incorporate a pair of pretty awful panniers.
Yes indeed, I bought the 12R as it has great presence, and always turns
heads when parked. Why would you want to stick such a wart on the back
    of it !

    Cheers

    Paul.

And the helmet. Does he have Spidey-pattern leathers too, do you reckon, or
does he just put a costume on over his black-and-yellow Dainese?
