ZX12R + Hard Luggage? Oh yes you can!

  1. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Wicked Uncle Nigel amazed us all with this pearl
    of wisdom:
    That's fucking *awful*

Didn't look that excessive to me if you wanted that kind of thing.

Mind you I thought they looked pretty shit.

I think a significant amount of work has to go into the design and
moulding and since it's already painted then I still think 600 quid
isn't too bad (if you ignore how it looks).

If he hasn't, I think he should do - that's awful.

    So?

Yes Hepco and Becker do *racks* for just about every supersports bike
but I was pointing to hard panniers for the ZX12R which H&B don't do.

    I'm buying a ZZR1200 anyway! :)

On the bike I'm sure he said somewhere he didn't like - anyway!!

Personally I'd have waited for the 1400 - it does like it has some potential
    to be interesting.

    Except for those headlights.

My only reservation about the ZZR1200 is the weight, but, as many tests
have said, it doesn't feel that heavy. I tried a Blackbird yesterday
and it's pretty similar but I just about preferred the ZZR.

I've wondered about the ZZR1400 but it's a bit of an unknown quantity
and it appears to be a ZX12R replacement as much as a ZZR1200
replacement. Thus it may have the same issue of no hard luggage being
    available.

  10. Doubtless I'll be jumping through the what shall I get next hoops once
I 1) get some money through, 2) get mended, and 3) find the time to
    trawl around dealers.

Read the blurb though - it talks a lot about evolution of the ZX12R and how
the changes make it part of the family (of the 6R and 10R).

    I bet it won't cost £7500 ($11699) here though.

Sure, but sounds like any other sports tourer sales pitch, i.e. it's
based on our racing heritage/sports bikes/what I had for breakfast etc
    etc etc
