OK, so thinking more about an "upgrade", I've just looked at biketrader
to see how much 9R-C1/C2s are going for.

The cheapest (C1 98/S 17K) is ukp2395 and they range up to another one
    at ukp3600 (C1 98/S 23K, "stunning").

Even the cheapest one seems very optimistic. I reckon a lot closer to
(and maybe a bit less than) 2K would be closer to the mark,
notwithstanding the time of year and the nice weather we're having
    pushing up prices a bit.

So what would anyone and/or TOG reckon? Mine is a 98/R C1 with just
coming up to 30K miles. Bog standard apart from braided hoses I have a
Scorpion can but it currently has the standard one fitted. It has a
couple of minor scratches and fitting a hugger temorarily put some
marks on the swing-arm. Fitting it again would cover these up but I
don't like it, so it's off atm. Only about three months MOT left but
I'll sort that before selling/px-ing it.

I've no idea about the value, but a pal of mine just bought a REALLY mint 9R
with 7000 miles on the clock for 2 grand.

The only mark on the bike is from his security chain taking paint off the
front wheel, but the guy who bought it is a painter, so it's not a problem.

    I believe it's a C2.

I was watching on one ebay which ended yesterday (the seller was 5 mins
up the road from me) - a 1995 B2 with 11k on the clock, 2 prev owners in
superb condition - went for circa 1650ukp.

The B models are foul handling heavy buses, the ZZR1100 from the same
era is a better sports bike.

Beav banged the rocks together and they said :
W reg 9R E1, 6800 on the clock, nice condition (couple of chips on edge
of two panels, light scratch on front) ?3200.

And another scratch on tank where my fucking petrol strimmer decided it
was tired and wanted to lie down. Via the bike. Bastard.

  6. That's way too much. I think Niall paid £2.5k for his utter minter, and
    I'd suggest £3k as a maximum for a late 9R.

2 years ago I sold my 2000 W regd C2 with Ohlins shock and a few other
bits for top book - £3400.

Mine's almost as early as the C-model can be (Feb 98) so I think I'd be
    happy with 2K.

Still, a new bike is not quite a done deed, so I'll keep an eye on
biketrader, MCN and eBay for now.
