As in the opposite of down, but by f*ck, the 12R looks a bit second
    hand :-0

Suffice to say, the road went one way, covered in gravel, I was banked
over and didn't fancy it, so I picked the bike up and shot through 3
strands of barbed wire at about 30mph. I executed a perfect U turn in
the field (still on 2 wheels) in front of some bemused farm animals
(in the next field), and exited out of the hole I had just made.

Got some deep gouges on the fork legs, (dang those usd's) front
mudguard, upper fairing, screen and right fairing lower, indicators
AWOL, plus some deep, nasty whippy barbed wire marks over my right
    boot.

The front tyre, radiator and brake hoses survived, so it wasn't
altogether a bad day (i.e. still rideable) :)

Hog will be along later to gloat how he out manouvred me on his old
    bimmer :)

    Daft sod!
    Glad you're OK though....

Pics, as BGN suggested are essential so the usually rally of criticism can
    be levelled at you.

Have fun at the BOSM as I ain't gonna be there
(awaits sighs of relief and usual slandering)

Heh. If the barbed wire had been at neck height, I might have leant
the bike over a bit further and hoped for the best. ;)

The straight on exit looked preferable at the time for some reason.
It was a dodgy back road he knew quite well.

I as unfortunately new to that one !

Good job there was no other furniture
I hope you sealed the hole up to stop the animals getting out ?

It's quite easy. You go to the garage with a key, put it in the
    ignition, and off you go.

Go on, give it a try! :)

Heh. I thought of you afterwards !
Actually, I buggered off rather sharpish. Thankfully I had
reconnoitred enough of the field on 2 wheels to realise that the field
    was enclosed ;)

  10. "Was" being the operative term. I assume there was a nice 12R-shaped
    hole at one end.

Having that half-empty bag of gravel on his pillion helped.

Heh I didn't see any gravel at all....

The 12R is looking a bit sorry for itself. Can I suggest we all start
bidding up 12R fairing parts on eBay for a couple of months ;o)
