Having just waved goodbye to my classic Spitfire in exchange for a
goodly sum of wonga, my mind turned to "upgrading" [1] the Sprint and a
casual browse of Haslemere Motorcycles' web site yielded a ZZR 1200
    (2002 - C1H), silver, circa 2.5k miles for £4895. Sounds like a lot of
bike for not too much money. If you've riffen bot the 955i Sprint ST and
the ZZR, anyone care to give me their thoughts in terms of comparisons
    between the two?

On another note, anyone ever tried adding a little Polyfilla to white
emulsion to fill in cracks "as you paint" ?

    Not really.
What are you trying to cover up with this paint / filla mix?

  6. I was browsing eBay last night and saw this 2002 ZZR1200 with a buy it now
price of £3,850. Silver, unmarked, FSH, 9,600 miles, colour-matched GIVI
    luggage.

I thought blimey, that seems cheap.

Item 200025470516, 3 day auction, in Cornwall.

I don't how the two compare, but I think the ZZR you've seen is
    seriously overpriced.

Just some very small cracks in the room I'm in the middle of decorating,
where the plaster of the wall meets the coving. I'd already used some
filler but it seemed to crack again after I'd sanded it down and
considered whether mising some in the paint might do the trick.

From a dealer, I guess that's par for the course. What's it worth-ish
    then?

You need something more flexible in there.
Some acrylic mastic, AKA Painters Mate might be worth applying to the crack,
and can be painted over once dry.

  13. You need to gouge out the cracks and fill them. Trying to just fill the
line of the crack will always fail.

  14. A bit of Unibond makes a decent filler.

My father in law (a carpenter and joiner) used to swear by Unibond, no
project seemed complete without at least one application of it.

    Read and digested.
Have already established with CN that it's easy to insure.
That all makes sense, but I really wouldn't want / need both bikes over
the winter. I'd *really* like to see what a ZZR1200 feels like to ride.

    Haslemere are stupidly overpriced IME
and servicing is done by a bunch of fairing scratch happy monkeys

Oh they seemed so pleasant when I popped in there the other day. I guess
you can never *really* tell without 1st hand experience. Wasn't a very
generous p/x they offered on the Sprint (didn't expect it to be of
course) but I have to say the ZZR was like new.
