ZZR1100c (zx11)

I have a UK model 1100c as in the topic. The manual says the UK model has 125hp whereas the USA
model has 147hp. Does anyone have an idea where the power output is restricted? The same carbs are
listed, with the same jet sizes. The same ignition advance is also listed for both model, except at
idle. How else could they restrict total power output?

 

Only early UK ZZR1100s were restricted to 125bhp.

The restriction was in the carb tops, and changing these for ZXR750 tops
allowed the slides to move that bit higher and liberate the extra poke.

If yours has flat carb tops, it's restricted. If they have domes on
them, it's not.

 

It is restricted by the carb tops. Look at yours (the black plastic
cover on the top of the carb) and if it is just a couple of
millimetres high then yours is restricted. A full power model has
carb tops that are about one and a half centimetrs high.
